Things cool down, for a bit.

After fully recovering from our trip to St. James, Ben and Abby were happy to settle in to normality at home. As it cools down the kids desire to be outside does not.  This has led to the investment in warm boots and gloves, pictures to follow in a later post.

Warming up hands and bellies with some hot chocolate.

After a week of cool weather it turned nice again and we were able to shed the jackets, hoods, and shoes.

This is not our cat.  We have two neighborhood cats who wander into our yard to play with Ben and Abby.  This cat is much more playful than the other one and can be seen pouncing on Ben and getting ready to teach Abby a lesson about pulling cats' tails.

Ben is fascinated with kites but has never actually seen one fly until yesterday.  We went to the park and he was captivated watching the kite fly through the air-it was a stunt kite that a guy was twirling all over the place.

Abby and Ben both love to climb and sometimes find themselves "stuck," meaning they need a little coaching as to how to get back down.   Indoor climbing ideas welcome.

Go Cardinals!

We apologize for the downtime between postings but the adults have were sick last week and now Abby and Ben are ill.  In happier news we've changed the blog header to support the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series.  Rally caps everyone!

Fall Break

We went to St. James over Fall Break to visit with the family...here's a shot of Ben helping us pack:

We went to the Garver farm first, and the kids had a blast.

Thursday night we roasted hot dogs and had a picnic dinner.

Friday morning we visited the cows...the kids were a little scared to see them up close and personal, so they hid behind us.

Friday night we headed to the Morris house for some fun before the football game.

Saturday morning we all loaded up and headed to St. Louis for a day at Grant's Farm...

...and Stuckmeyer's Pumpkin Patch.

Before heading home we stopped in Fenton to play at the park...

...and at Maggie Moo's for ice cream.

The kids had a lot of fun Sunday afternoon, too.

Time to head downstairs for even more fun!

Ben got sticky so somebody decided to "hose him down" and let him have some fun with the hose too.

Eventually the kids were worn out...

...so we hit the road for home with two sleepy kiddos in tow.
