Flashback Friday 10-14-11

We have quite a few pictures of Ben and Abby from their first two years that we'd like to share with you in a flashback Friday post once every two weeks.

A family from our congregation own a go cart and mini golf business in Nixa and the kids seemed to really like the mini golf.  They don't hit the balls as much as they throw them but Ben caught on to the premise of the game after careful observation.

We took a half day trip to Branson to shop and play and we decided to get our feet wet in a stream by a local park.  Ben was roaring to walk right into the water while Abby was more hesitant.  I will add that the difficulty level of taking pictures while trying to make sure Ben stays upright and not slipping on the rocks is quite high.

Tom and I took the kids on a short day hike south of Springfield.

After playing outside Ben decided it was time to come in side, have a snack, and read a book.

These pictures are quite random as Jessiqa has a bad habit of not uploading her pictures to the computer in time for press release.  The first two pictures are symbolic of this past week as we've been so busy that all Jessiqa and I want to do is lay down.

It might be hard to see in these pictures without enlarging them but Ben and Abby have strung the tape measure out across the yard.  Abby then becomes bored and begins walking around with a basket on her head.

Mom hugs during playtime on the bed.

Benjamin has graduated from two feet on the recliner to one.

Cupcakes from Grandma Garver.  Ben and Abby approve!

This basket is intended for holding the children's play food that is outside in their play kitchen.  They decided that it is better utilized as a rock transporter.

Autumn has led to the discovery of previously unattainable things.  First it was leaves, now they've discovered pine needles.

While we wait for runners at a cross country meet Ben insists on me putting him in this tree.  He's hanging on by himself in the first picture.

Enjoying campfire food at the Hodge's bonfire.

After much struggling with Dad's shoes Ben is a happy camper.

At times we think our children are absolutely losing their minds, or that we're rubbing off on them.  Even though she's crazy like us, she's learning her alphabet fairly well as the following video will demonstrate.  (You may have to turn up the volume as the audio is fairly quiet.)

Smorgasbord of pictures

At some point last night our computer went on strike and lawyers for both sides were brought in due to differences in shift lengths and compensation.  After a bargaining agreement was reached we were able to download the remainder of the pictures that were sent to us from Ben and Abby's birthday weekend. There were a lot of pictures, hence the labor strike.  These are a small percentage of the pictures that we received and hope that you enjoy them.. Photos courtesy of Larry and Susan.
